In order to help out people with disabilities, this policy is specially designed for persons with disability as per The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and Individuals with HIV/AIDS as defined under the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 to provide such people with some relief and relaxation in relation to their health insurance policies. Under this insurance plan, the insured gets coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh for medical treatment including both pre and post hospitalization expenses.

Persons who have at least one of the disabilities as defined under Specified Disability under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 with valid disability certificate are eligible to buy this policy.

      • Expenses incurred towards treatment in any hospital or by any Medical Practitioner or any other provider specifically excluded by the Insurer and disclosed in its website / notified to the policyholders are not admissible.
      • Treatment for, Alcoholism, drug or substance abuse or any addictive condition and consequences thereof.
      • Treatments received in heath hydros, nature cure clinics, spas or similar establishments or private beds registered as a nursing home attached to such establishments or where admission is arranged wholly or partly for domestic reasons.
      • Dietary supplements and substances that can be purchased without prescription, including but not limited to Vitamins, minerals and organic substances unless prescribed by a medical practitioner as part of hospitalization claim or day care procedure.

As per IRDA Circular no. IRDAI/HLT/CIR/MISC/58/2/2023, dated:27.02.2023, subject Product for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Persons afflicted with HIV/AIDS, and those with Mental Illness.

Disability for the purpose of this policy means a person with 40% or more disability as certified by the Medical Board appointed by the Government for certifying Disability. The list of disabilities as defined under Specified Disability under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 is not static and can be revised based on Government regulation.

No, only 30 days waiting period is applicable for all HIV claims.

Disability waiting period of 2 years is applicable for treatment or hospitalization related with that existing disability only. Other hospitalization will be covered after 30 days subject to terms and conditions of the product.

Under this product, insured cannot take more than one policy from any or all insurers. The maximum liability of all policies put together from all insurers cannot exceed the maximum sum insured under this product.
