According to the law, you must have a third–party car insurance along with a valid driving license before driving your vehicle on Indian roads. Only people above 18 years of age can apply for a driving license. If you are above 18 years and plan to apply for a driving license, it is essential to understand a few things about the process before gathering the documents required for driving license. For instance, you cannot apply for a permanent driving license directly.

You first need to secure a learner’s license and then apply for a permanent driving license. The learner’s license is an MCQ test that is digitally conducted by the RTO authority. This exam has about 15 questions that you need to answer. You said to have passed the test if you correctly answered more than nine questions.
